Food
- Kibbles (never-ending kibbles). But Mum rotates three brands for me: Aozi, Holistic and Vitality, to keep me from being sated with kibbles. If you’re wondering why these three brands, well, they are some of the brands that have the least sodium content. Having survived an early onset of kidney failure, Mum makes sure that I don’t eat anything too salty anymore.
- Slices of boiled, unseasoned/unsalted meat. Depending on availability, Mum would add slices of hard-boiled egg, chicken, beef or pork to my kibble. These provide me additional protein to keep my muscles strong. Note that these are not and should not be seasoned.
- Distilled water / Water from boiled meat. Mum adds water to my kibbles for extra hydration.
- Mashed veggies like squash and sayote. These have got to be my favorite meal add-ons. Yes, I am a veggie-loving dog, which might be one of the reasons why I’m smart. ?
- Plain Greek yogurt. This is not a daily part of my diet, but Mum gives me a teaspoon of this at least thrice a week.
Supplements
- Immuno Pet Shield. For many years, I have been alternating between popular vitamin brands like LC Vit and Papi MVP. However, during one of my vet visits in Quezon City (where we now live, after my furparents got married), Doc advised that I take Immuno Pet Shield as supplement instead. After just a month, Mum noticed my enhanced appetite, which eventually led to an increase in my weight. From averaging to just 5.5kgs for three years, since I took Immuno Pet Shield, my weight has now averaged 5.9kgs-6kgs. Give the recommended dosage to your furbaby before or after their meal, once a day.
- Virgin coconut oil / Salmon oil for pets. Mum uses these as ‘toppings’ to my kibble. She noticed how these would help maintain my fur’s softness and shine, and also makes my food extra yummy.
Bon appetit!
