Sunday is ligo (bath) time!

But to be honest, I’m not a big fan of taking baths. I immediately hide when I hear my furparents say “Ligo” (that’s how smart I am 😎). So, Mum avoids saying it out loud. 🤣

But don’t worry. Once Mum corners me and puts me on a chair, I will behave and just let her take over.

I know she means well anyway, and that I will benefit from this, too. This is how I stay clean and cute.

Wash

Mum starts off by boiling water, which she will then pour into a pail of cold water, ensuring my bath water is lukewarm. This is so I won’t get cold.

Then, she will wet my bath soap and work on a lather. As you can see in the photo, my bath soap’s brand is VetCore (this is not sponsored). It not only gets rid of the dirt and grime that accumulate in my body (thanks to all the play and gala [travel] that my furparents allow me to do), but it also keeps ticks away.

It’s also very effective in healing scratches and wounds that I get from rough-playing with my younger sister, Pepsi.

After rigorously scrubbing my body, Mum uses a soft brush to remove grime and tear stain around my eyes.

Then, she will brush my teeth.

I also don’t like having my teeth brushed (it’s a weird feeling for me). But I just let my Mum do what she wants (happy Mum, happy life 🤣).

Simultaneously, this allows VetCore to be absorbed more effectively by my fur and skin.

Rinse

When Mum thinks enough time has passed, she will pour lukewarm water onto me, ensuring that all areas lathered with soap are properly rinsed.

💡 Tip to furparents: Be very careful when rinsing around the ears — don’t let water get in our ears as it might form a pus (luga) inside our ear canal and cause an infection.

What Mum does is she would hold my ears down, using her left hand as a makeshift muffler / ear protector, while pouring water on my body.

Dry

For thick-furred dog breeds like me, it is imperative that we are dried properly with pet blow-dryers to keep us safe from molds, dandruff and other skin infections.

Warning to furparents: Patience is required, as this is what takes a really long time to finish, depending on your furbaby’s fur thickness.

Don’t worry, because once we’re all clean and dry, all your effort will be worth it. We’ll be clean and smell so good, you’ll want to cuddle with us again!
